Data Retention and Deletion Policy
Last Updated: April 28, 2026
Purpose
This Data Retention and Deletion Policy explains how Bifalabs manages retention of candidate, employer, proctoring, media, analytics, and platform data. The policy supports privacy, security, compliance, cost control, and user trust.
Retention Principles
Bifalabs retains personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose collected, contractual obligations, security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, audit requirements, and legitimate business needs. More sensitive data, such as video recordings, screen recordings, identity verification images, and detailed behavioral logs, have shorter and clearly defined retention periods unless a customer or legal hold requires otherwise.
Suggested Defaults
Basic account records are retained while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. Interview reports are retained according to customer configuration. Raw recordings are retained for a shorter review window. Security logs are retained for operational security. Backups persist for a limited backup cycle before overwrite.
Deletion Requests
Individuals may request deletion through privacy@bifalabs.ai. Where Bifalabs processes data for an employer or recruiter, deletion may require customer instruction or coordination. Some data may be retained where necessary for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legitimate archival purposes.
Legal Holds
Bifalabs may suspend deletion where necessary to comply with litigation holds, regulatory inquiries, security investigations, contractual obligations, or other legal requirements.
